This competition rewards our future young cheese makers and underlines the importance of passing on know-how. this competition was initiated by the "Fédération des Fromagers de France" and the National Society of "Meilleur Ouvrier de France". For 35 years, she has promoted the "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" in various fields and, this year, she wanted to highlight a profession with many opportunities for new generations: that of creamer-cheese maker.
This competition is open to young people under the age of 23, in training (CAP, BEP and Bac Pro) 4 tests are planned to decide between the participants. first, a 30-minute general culture test around professional practices and technologies, as well as applied sciences in this field. Then they will have a sales simulation for 10 minutes, the making and presentation of a cheese platter for 40 minutes and a simulation test of serving cheese in the restaurant for 15 minutes.
Candidates will demonstrate their ability to become the cheese makers of tomorrow, by adapting to the new demands of this profession and by revealing the extent of their knowledge. The jury will be made up of professionals under the chairmanship of Mr. Didier LASSAGNE, MOF Fromager.
